Hugh Jackman missed out on the Guinness World Record for the longest career as a live action Marvel character to a fellow Deadpool & Wolverine star.
Previously held by Patrick Stewart, who played Professor X from 2000's X-Men to 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Guinness World Records announced Blade actor Wesley Snipes now holds the title over Jackman.
While Jackman's Wolverine also debuted in X-Men and now beats Stewart's tenure thanks to the release of Deadpool & Wolverine on July 26, 2024, Snipes first played the vampire hunter two years prior in 1998's Blade.
His career in the role has therefore spanned 25 years and 340 days, compared to Jackman's 23 years and 344 days, and Stewart's 21 years and 296 days.
Snipes also earned the record for the longest gap between character appearances in Marvel films, having gone almost two decades, specifically 19 years and 231 days, between appearing in 2004's Blade: Trinity and Deadpool & Wolverine.
He wasn't the only cameo character to appear in the film, as alongside the titular pair of superheroes came the likes of Captain America star Chris Evans playing Johnny Storm from the original Fantastic Four films, Channing Tatum reviving the role of Gambit after he was cut from X-Men: The Last Stand in 2006, and Logan star Dafne Keen as a grown up X-23.
