MCU Fans React to The Marvels, Its Ending, Mid-Credits Scene, and More

Spoilers Ahead for The Marvels!

The Marvels has officially arrived in theaters and the internet has begun to share their feelings about the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe film. From overall thoughts to reactions of the ending and mid-credits scene to favorite moments and much more, we've gathered some of the best responses we can find online.

So, check them out and let us know what you thought of The Marvels below!

Despite the Disappointing Box Office Performance, the Internet Is Loving The Marvels

The Marvels had the worst-ever opening for an MCU film with domestic ticket sales of $47.0 million, but many of those who actually went to the theaters during the first weekend had a great time.

"GO SEE “THE MARVELS”!!" Dave Cobb wrote. "The cast is great across the board, and Iman Vellani steals every scene she’s in with her goofy charm. Plus, there’s a sequence that is probably the funniest of any Marvel movie — I had to catch my breath from laughing."

Cobb's words were echoed across the board, as a ton of people praised not only Iman Vellani's Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, but also the outrageous and hilarious Flerken scene that Cobb was referring to and that houseofphoton called a "hall of fame scene."

"I loved Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris but yes…THE MVP of #TheMarvels is Iman Vellani," Justin Quizon wrote. "She is the breath of fresh air that is needed in the MCU."

"The Marvels is a whole lot of fun!" Tessa Smith wrote. "Hilarious, action packed! Kamala Khan & her family steal the show, but seeing this teamup of 3 powerful ladies is something special! The most excited I've been for the future of Marvel in a LONG time!"

As for the Flerken scene in question, it involved a ton of Flerken kittens eating the terrified crew of the S.A.B.E.R. space station. While this seems awful, it was actually to keep them safe as they boarded a number of escape pods that wouldn't have fit all the humans if they weren't in the shockingly large pocket realities inside the bodies of the Flerkens.

"A bunch of Flerken kittens eating people up horror movie style while memories from the musical cats played in the background," Targ_Nation wrote. "THIS SCENE WILL F****** GO DOWN IN MCU HISTORY I NEVER LAUGHED LOUDER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE."

Kikacol actually summed up what we were all thinking by saying, "Is it weird that I want a Flerkern now?"

There Was an Idea... For the Young Avengers!

While there was a lot of praise for The Marvels as a whole, two of the biggest moments from the film were undoubtedly the mid-credits scene we will get to shortly and one that arrived just before the credits began. That scene? Well, we'll let ScarletWidow901 tell you about it.

"MOTHERF***** KATE BISHOP!!!!!!! HOW I MISS YOU! YOUNG AVENGERS ARE COMINGGGGGG!!!"

Yes, we are finally getting the Young Avengers in the MCU and it all began with Kamala doing her best Nick Fury impression to recruit none other than Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop! The internet obviously loved this scene, especially considering Lucky the Pizza Dog was there too!

MultiFandomJody was one of those who loved this tease, and they gave a few ideas of who else may be joining the crew in the future.

"Not only have The Young Avengers been confirmed, which I’ve been talking about and geeking out over for years now, but we know THREE members so far [Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop, and Cassie Lang).

"WE ALSO have plenty of characters that could be added such as Eli Bradley, Billy Kaplan (potentially in Agatha’s show), Hulk’s son Skaar (MAYBE?? He isn’t Hulkling so…), Kid Loki, America Chavez, and Riri Williams. Tommy too but we have no news of him in MCU yet."

Harmagedom used a Mean Girls meme to celebrate the scene, which is timely due to the trailer for the new musical film!

The Mid-Credits Scene That Shocked The World

Sure, the Young Avengers coming to the MCU is great and all, but there are very few things Marvel fans want more than for the X-Men to arrive. With The Marvels mid-credits scene, we are now closer than ever!

In this scene, Monica Rambeau wakes up in a hospital bed and sees a younger version of her mother, Maria Rambeau, next to her sleeping. Monica is understandably shocked, but Maria acts like she doesn't know who she is. However, before she can get to the bottom of that mystery, Kelsey Grammer's Beast walks in!

Yes, the universe Monica entered on the other side of the space-time rift is filled with X-Men and may be the key to these two worlds colliding. As if Beast wasn't wonderful enough, Maria gets up and we see that she is wearing the superhero costume of Binary, and then we see the X-Men sub-basement doors from the Fox X-Men movies and Beast even mentions Professor Xavier! Hooray for the X-Men!

Many on the internet were very excited by this, and LeCinephiles even used a blue version of the Reaction Guys meme (which features IGN co-founder Peer Schneider and more!) to express their excitement.

Tom SU was very excited for Beast's arrival, and they used Antonio Banderas to help convey their joy.

Trevraidn sums up all the happenings in The Marvels, saying this film will be very important for the MCU going forward.

"tbh kevin fiege ate cause everyone that hated/not watching The Marvels is gonna be real confused when carol is leading the Avengers, Iman is leading Young Avengers, and Monica basically being the bridge that pulls the x-men into the MCU."

The Marvels Wasn't For Everyone, and That's OK!

Despite all the above, there are still those who just didn't love The Marvels, and that's totally ok! As long as you don't attack others online, there's no shame if something doesn't click with you! As famed author Stephen King notes, "I don’t go to MCU movies, don’t care for them, but I find this barely masked gloating over the low box office for THE MARVELS very unpleasant. Why gloat over failure?"

Others, like Harry Lichtman, said it was "fine." Instead of taking unecessary shots, they gave some context and reasoning behind not loving it.

"Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, and Teyonah Parris have great chemistry together, but the plot was all over the place and the villain was forgettable. Nice mid-credits scene though," Lichtman wrote.

Love it or hate it, just remember to be kind!

In our The Marvels review, we said, "Its depth can be seen not just through its characters, but through its story as it explores war's complicated fallout; the difficulty of being a human when you are perceived as a monolith; and the hilarious and complicated virtues of family," IGN's Amelia Emberwing continued. "Both funny and heartfelt, Nia DaCosta’s MCU debut will have you asking when she and her leading ladies are coming back immediately after the credits roll. It’s a pity that the villain isn’t given much to do, though."
