Disney+'s upcoming Percy Jackson and the Olympians received some new images during NYCC 2023 that feature a first look at many of the series' guest stars, including Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hermes and the late Lance Reddick's Zeus.
While those in attendance at the Percy Jackson and the Olympians panel at NYCC were treated to a behind-closed-doors look at the show and a surprise appearance from Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan himself, fans around the world were treated to these new images you can see in the slideshow below.
As for who they include, the 15 new images feature Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hermes, Megan Mullally's Alecto/Mrs. Dodds, Toby Stephens' Poseidon, Virginia Kull's Sally Jackson, Jason Mantzoukas' Dionysus/Mr. D, Jay Duplass' Hades, Glynn Turman's Chiron/Mr. Brunner, the late Lance Reddick's Zeus, Adam Copeland's Ares, Charlie Bushnell's Luke Castellan, Dior Goodjohn's Clarisse La Rue, Jessica Parker Kennedy's Medusa, Suzanne Cryer's Echinda, Timm Sharp's Gabe Ugliano, and Timothy Omundson's Hephaestus.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians will have its two-episode premiere on Disney+ on December 20, 2023, and new episodes will arrive weekly for the eight-episode first season.
This new series will see Walker Scobell's Percy Jackson teaming up with Aryan Simhadri's Grover and Leah Sava Jeffries' Annabeth as they venture across America in search of Zeus' lost lightning bolt that Percy himself has been accused of stealing. This first season is a loose adaptation of Riordan's first Percy Jackson book - The Lightning Thief.
Both The Lightning Thief and Sea of Monsters were previously adapted into feature films, and we gave them a score of 4/10 and 6/10, respectively.
