Gen V fans have identified a sneaky Easter egg in the third season of The Boys, which premiered on Prime Video last year, in connection with one of the main characters in the college-based spin-off series.
The first three episodes of Gen V were released on September 29, with the fourth episode arriving a week later on October 6, and introduced a new set of characters. Among the newcomers is Jaz Sinclair, who plays Marie Moreau, an 18-year-old superhero who can control, weaponize, and wield her own blood as a weapon.
As reported by Dexerto, some viewers of Gen V found a small nod to Marie Moreau in the second episode of The Boys' third season. In the episode, Hughie visits the Red River Institute, a group home that acts as an orphanage for Supe children. The screen briefly shows records of those who reside there, including Marie.

Fans flagged the visual reference on both X and Reddit. "She said to Golden Boy her powers didn't come till she was 12. And this is eight years after the incident with her parents," one Redditor wrote. "It would seem that the general consensus is that her being 12 was apart of her nervous lying habit," another added.
The Boys creator Eric Kripke and Gen V's showrunner Michele Fazekas recently touched on Marie's brief appearance in The Boys, which may have set fans on the Easter egg hunt. The two explained to Collider that crossover cameos between the two shows can occur since they both "exist in the same world".
"Marie has already shown up in The Boys," Fazekas revealed, to which Kripke added: "Oh, yeah, that's true. Marie had a little Easter egg. As long as you don't need to see the other show to enjoy the one you're watching, then we're totally open to that stuff.
"It really bums me out when you're watching a franchise, and it's like, 'Oh, wait, did you watch the 12 other hours? Because you're not gonna understand any of this unless you see that.' And then, it starts to feel like homework. So, as long as you can just watch it and enjoy it, then, yeah, we're totally open to that kind of stuff."
Gen V Episodes 1-4 are available to stream on Prime Video now. IGN's review of the premiere batch said, "Episodes 1 through 3 are a superpowered knockout jam-packed with storytelling engagement trimmed with a master butcher's precise cuts" - but a lot of crazy things happen, leaving viewers with some big questions.
