The Boys spin-off Gen V finally introduces Tek Knight.
Appearing briefly in the new Gen V trailer, below, actor Derek Wilson stars as Tek Knight, the oft-mentioned supe who has been notably absent from The Boys… until now.
“Digging for the truth is a rush,” he tells our new budding supes as he encounters some of the plucky students of Vought’s Godolkin University. But quite how he fits into the show’s storyline remains a mystery.
Spoilers for The Boys comic books follow.
In the comic books, Tek Knight is one of the less-depraved supes, at least at first, and is even described by Billy Butcher as being "boring". However, he also dons a kick-ass suit of high-tech armour that grants him his powers. Yes, underneath it all he’s just a regular, non-enhanced human, and that’s basically his Achilles heel when it comes to squaring off against other supes.
Things later take a turn for the gross, when Tek Knight develops a sex addiction and can’t stop himself from trying to have sex with just about anyone or anything. It’s eventually revealed he had a huge brain tumour that caused his weird sexual desires. In the end, he was nice but damaged.
Tek Knight was first mentioned on The Boys back in Season 1 when a member of a support group for people affected by supes reveals she was saved by Tek Knight, only to end up with spinal damage as a result.
During Season 2, a conversation between Homelander and Vought CEO Mr Edgar confirms the debut of a new Tek Knight movie, Tek Knight Lives.
Now, the Iron Man-style supe finally makes his debut on Gen V, although quite how he ends up encountering the Godolkin students is being kept firmly under wraps.
