Netflix’s One Piece Live-Action Series Gets Final Trailer Just Before Launch

Netflix has released the final trailer for its One Piece live-action adaptation ahead of its premiere as well as new images.

Netflix’s One Piece is based on Japan’s highest-selling manga series ever. It’s a high-seas adventure in which Monkey D. Luffy longs for a life of freedom. One Piece is actually the name of the treasure Luffy is after during his journey to become King of the Pirates. But before that, he must assemble a crew and find a ship to sail.

Check out the trailer in the tweet below:

And here are seven new photos:

One Piece stars Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Matt Owens and Steven Maeda are writers, executive producers, and showrunners. Eiichiro Oda (creator of the manga), Marty Adelstein, and Becky Clements also executive produce.

In a sweet call-out to fans of the anime, Netflix recently released a One Piece trailer (which you can watch here) that has the anime’s Japanese voice cast dubbing over the English-speaking live-action cast. Netflix previously announced that the original voice cast would be reprising their roles for the live-action One Piece Japanese dub, bringing some of the spirit of the beloved anime to the adaptation. Meanwhile, One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda had specific demands for Netflix ahead of it adapting his work into live action.

One Piece comes out on Netflix on August 31.
