Christopher Nolan found great success with his Dark Knight Trilogy in the earlier part of the 21st century, but it seems he has no desire to revisit superheroes after Batman.
Speaking with YouTuber HugoDécrypte to promote the upcoming release of Oppenheimer, Nolan answered a series of questions including whether he would still be making movies in 10 years ("Yes") and whether he would make a TV show ("No.")

Asked whether he would want to direct another superhero film after Batman, Christopher Nolan responded with a quick and curt, "No."
But that doesn't mean that Nolan is necessarily done with major franchises. When asked whether he would like to make a Star Wars movie, Nolan paused for a long moment, clearly in thought. Finally, he responded with a short, "Pass."
Nolan, of course, has plenty of experience with sci-fi. Among his most famous films are Inception and Interstellar, both of which start with relatively grounded concepts that rapidly progress into the fantastical. It's also worth noting that he's a big Star Wars fan and that he's had some pretty interesting conversations with George Lucas about the series.
In a 2014 interview, Nolan admitted that the prospect of directing a Star Wars film makes him nervous.
"As far as whether or not I would have ever done it, the truth is I think I’d be afraid to touch it! He’s boldly going where he went before in Star Trek, and it takes colossal balls," Nolan said ahead of the release of The Force Awakens. "I’m a lot more comfortable trying to do my own thing than carrying the weight and expectation of the entire world — particularly 40-somethings like me who live and die with each new bit of information about Star Wars."
For now, Nolan remains focused on historical films set around World War II, with two of his more recent films including Oppenheimer and Dunkirk. Christian Bale has said that he would return to Batman, but only if Nolan were involved. Whether Nolan will ever make another Batman movie is an open question, but it seems that he never plans to expand beyond the Dark Knight.
In the meantime, the next Batman film is Brave and the Bold, which is speculated to be released in 2025. As for Oppenheimer, it releases July 21.
