Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 (Crunchyroll, Funimation)

The popular isekai series Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is back with Season 2! The last time we saw our protagonist, Rudeus, he was depressed as his fellow travelers went off on their own to improve themselves. We also caught a glimpse of an old friend which could be the reunion he needs to get him back on his feet. We look forward to seeing these two sides possibly unite, and if Rudeus can come to terms with the changes in his life as the season continues. Mushoku Tensei Season 2 is available now on Crunchyroll and Funimation.

Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon (Crunchyroll)

Speaking of isekai, we have another one this summer with Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon. Of course there’s an anime about a vending machine! What hasn’t been made into an anime is the tougher question. The protagonist dies from crashing into a vending machine that fell off a truck, and is reincarnated as a magical vending machine in a fantasy world. Magical is the keyword here so Vending Machine-kun has special abilities that makes his survivability in this new world possible. It’s early in the season, so it’ll be interesting to see how it fairs in an actual dungeon as the series progresses. The series is available now on Crunchyroll.

Horimiya: The Missing Pieces (Crunchyroll, Funimation)

The highly rated romance series Horimiya is back with Season 2! The series follows Hori and Miyamura, an unlikely close pair that keeps their relationship secret from those at school. Horimiya is a wholesome series with a strong cast of characters to love. The series was even an IGN Anime of the Year nominee back in 2021. If you’re looking to get into a romance or slice of life series this summer, check out Horimiya. Season 2 of the series is available now on Crunchyroll and Funimation.

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead (Crunchyroll, Netflix, Hulu)

Are you looking for some escape from a rough school or work/life balance? This new series takes that to a totally ridiculous level. Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead makes its debut this summer! The series follows Akira, an optimistic new hire at a company that exploits their staff in horrible ways. As he’s dreading going to work, Akira suddenly finds himself in a zombie apocalypse! Akira takes this first day off as an opportunity to dream big and create a bucket list. The studio, BUG FILMS, does an amazing job with the premiere showcasing the extreme conditions of work versus the gory violence of zombies, utilizing color in intriguing ways. With such a strong start, we look forward to seeing how the rest of the season plays out this summer. Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead is available now on Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Hulu

Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn (Crunchyroll)

The Fate series returns with Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn where the latest battlefield takes place in the United States. This series first started as an April Fool’s joke that eventually led to the spinoff that it is today. A-1 Pictures does a beautiful job with this prologue, and we just got news that a full TV series is in the works from this year’s Anime Expo. Even though Fate/strange Fake isn’t directly associated with the larger series that fans know and love, it could still be a fun watch. We recommend that newcomers at least check out Fate/stay night to be better acquainted with the lore of the series. Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn is available now on Crunchyroll.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 (Crunchyroll, Funimation)

The long awaited shonen series is finally back with Season 2 after dropping the huge prequel movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, back in 2021. Jujustu Kaisen Season 2 begins with Gojo and Geto’s past when they were still students at Jujutsu High. We got a better understanding of the two’s relationship from the prequel movie so it’s interesting to have Season 2 go even further back in the timeline. It’s going to be a long season with 20+ episodes announced so we’re looking forward to what’s next for our lovable protagonists. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is available now on Crunchyroll and Funimation.

Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War, Part 2 (Hulu)

Speaking of highly anticipated shonen anime, the second part of the Bleach Thousand Year Blood War is here! Last we left Ichigo, he was preparing for the inevitable final battle so we’re hoping to see some epic anime fights in Part 2. Not to mention, the latest trailer shows a close friend, Ishida, becoming more involved this time around. As the Bleach anime gets closer and closer to its conclusion, we’re hoping to see some surprises to really end on a high note. Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War, Part 2 is available now on Hulu.
