Foundation Season 2 Premieres Summer 2023, Apple TV+ Shares First Look

Apple TV+ has shared a sneak peak at Foundation Season 2 and announced that the new episodes will premiere in summer 2023.

The Apple TV+ exclusive series didn’t get a specific release date, but the show certainly appears to be quite far along. Despite calling it a sneak peek, the streaming service released a lengthy two minute trailer showing off the action from Season 2.

The video shows several returning cast members including Jared Harris as Hari Seldon, Lee Pace as Brother Day, and Lou Llobell as Gaal Dornick. It also gives a brief look at some sci-fi beasties and some other challenges the heroes will face in the new season.

Foundation is based on the books by Isaac Asimov and follows a band of exiles as they work to save humanity and rebuild civilisation. It was first announced by Apple TV+ in 2018 and premiered in September 2021, making the summer 2023 release date for Season 2 a welcome surprise to fans.

In our 9/10 review of Season 1’s premiere, IGN said: “The first two episodes of Foundation successfully balance grand and complex ideas, a big ensemble cast, and a huge world with emotional and grounded human stories, all while delivering visual spectacle and capturing the scope and intrigue of Isaac Asimov's classic.”
