IGN can exclusively reveal a brand-new trailer for the third and final season of Hulu's Animaniacs and that it teases a parody of Mad Max: Fury Road.
Animaniacs will return for its final season on February 17, 2023, and the trailer gives a few hilarious glimpses as to what fans can expect from the newest episodes of the rebooted series from Steven Spielberg and Wellesley Wild.
These adventures include Pinky and The Brain once again plotting world domination, Yakko, Wakko, and Dot being held in the Warner Bros. water tower while trying to think of a way to escape that is "ideally in a way that parodies classic movies that's fun for both kids and their parents," and more.
As for the parody bit, we get a look at Pinky and The Brain racing through the desert while being chased by vehicles and people that wouldn't be out of place in George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road. If the parody wasn't obvious enough, Pinky follows up by saying, "you might say there's a lot of fury on this road."
"Yakko, Wakko, and Dot return with an all-new season of laughs, songs, pop culture parodies, and enough zany antics to fill a water tower (or 10 episodes!)," the official description of Animaniac's third season reads. "Pinky and The Brain's never-ending plans to take over the world journey them to unexpected realms. And while new friends Starbox and Cindy continue their play date, the Warner siblings must battle their way out of a video game, learn the secrets of being a teen influencer, and escape a mad scientist's island all while finding time to teach us about the threat of global warming!"
Hulu's Animaniacs revival was announced back in 2018 and it was confirmed that Steve Spielberg would be an executive producer on the series. It was originally set to be two seasons, but the series has obviously made it to a third.
The original Animaniacs ran for a total of 99 episodes from 1993 to 1998 on Fox Kids and Kids' WB, and a Pinky and the Brain spin-off followed.
