As if it wasn't ironic enough that Netflix greenlit a Blockbuster series after it helped with its demise, the streamer has now canceled it after one season, effectively meaning Netflix has now killed Blockbuster twice.
As reported by Variety, the single-camera workplace comedy that focused on the last Blockbuster Video in the world will be ending its run after 10 episodes. The series starred Randall Park, Melissa Fumero, Olga Merediz, Tyler Alvarez, Madeleine Arthur, JB Smoove, Kamaia Fairburn, Leonard Robinson, and Keegan Connor Tracy.
In our Blockbuster review, we said that it was "interesting in theory," but it failed at "delivering on its unique premise, often settling on derivative storytelling. Nearly void of humor, with emotional moments that feel unearned, the show can’t rely on its cast either. It’s a bummer, considering what Blockbuster could have been."

Blockbuster, which was the once-dominant video and game chain, went bankrupt in 2010 before announcing in 2013 that it would begin closing all its stores. As of today, only one store remains in Bend, Oregon.
Blockbuster became one of the biggest players in the market after rising to greatness in the late 1980s. Unfortunately, the arrival of Netflix and other streaming services led to its downfall.
