The X-Files LEGO Set Has Gillian Anderson Snapping on a Pair of Latex Gloves Once More

X-Files star Gillian Anderson has unveiled the series' long-awaited LEGO set, which goes on sale next month priced $200.

Part of the LEGO Ideas range of fan-designed creations, X-Files (21369) is a 1,478-piece set which eight minifigures, including Fox Mulder, Dana Scully, Walter Skinner, Mr. X, Alex Krycek, Carl Busch, The Flukeman and... a grey alien.

LEGO Insiders will get three days' early access to the set in just a couple of weeks, from August 1. After that, it will be available to all from August 4. There's a mini Gift With Purchase set, too, featuring Scully's Lab — as ever, available while stocks last.

Today, LEGO published a short film starring Anderson as she discovers a mysterious package placed outside her hotel room. As the X-Files' classic theme plays, Anderson investigates the LEGO set, snapping on her latex gloves and picking up a minifigure of David Duchovny. "I don't remember you being so small," she quips. Blimey.

The set itself features an underground lab filled with Easter eggs from the show, in a cutaway design that also features Mulder and Scully above ground in a forest with the aforementioned grey alien. In a neat design, the alien can also be placed in front of a clear, tractor beam-like brick that supports a UFO above.

If you live outside the U.S., pricing comes to £179.99, €199.99, CAD$269.99 or AU$329.99. Is it worth it? You know the truth is out there.

It's a busy time for X-Files. The R-Rated Director’s Cut of 2008’s The X-Files: I Want to Believe hits Hulu on August 14, titled The X-Files: I Want to Believe Vrach Frankenshteyn. Meanwhile, The X-Files also has a reboot in the works, helmed by Sinners’ director Ryan Coogler.
