Netflix Releases One Piece: Into the Grand Line Teaser Trailer, Rise of the Baroques

Netflix has released the One Piece: Into the Grand Line teaser trailer, which introduces the “dangerous and formidable secret society of assassins” known as Baroque Works.

One Piece: Into the Grand Line is the official name for Season 2 of Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece, Japan’s highest-selling manga series of all time by Eiichiro Oda, with over 100 volumes and 500 million copies sold worldwide.

Here’s the official blurb on Season 2:

Netflix’s epic high-seas pirate adventure, One Piece, returns for Season 2 — unleashing fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet. Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line — a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies.

We also have casting news to go along with the teaser:

  • Charithra Chandran will play Miss Wednesday
  • Lera Abova will play Miss All-Sunday
  • David Dastmalchian will play Mr. 3
  • Camrus Johnson will play Mr. 5
  • Jazzara Jaslyn will play Miss Valentine
  • Daniel Lasker will play Mr. 9
  • Sophia Anne Caruso will play Miss Goldenweek

One Piece: Into The Grand Line premieres March 10, 2026. Season 3 is confirmed to be in the works. Oda's involvement in One Piece is perhaps one reason it has been more successful than Netflix's other live-action anime adaptations. One Piece Season 1 was a big success for Netflix despite a mixed reception from critics, leading Netflix to greenlight a second and third season.

We wrote in our One Piece Season 1 review: "Netflix’s One Piece strives to recreate the magic of its source material in live-action, but this requires jettisoning some pieces of the plot. This creates an interesting variation on the long-running manga and anime that works in parts, and the Netflix series is at its best when it charts its own path in response to the changes made by showrunner Matt Owens and the writing staff. Unfortunately, instead of committing fully to this retelling, One Piece constantly sails back into familiar waters and fan service, muddying the experience."
