Check out some anticipated series in the video above or the slideshow gallery below, followed by the full list of new Winter season 2025 anime and where to watch them in the U.S. and their respective streaming platforms. Anime listed are available now unless otherwise stated.
Fate/strange Fake (Crunchyroll)
The Fate series is back with a full season following the previously released Whispers of Dawn special from 2023. Fate/strange Fake follows Ayaka, a competitor among many others, who participates in the Holy Grail War. The circumstances of her becoming a competitor or master are not planned, but it’ll be interesting to see how she deals with the competition as the season progresses. A-1 Pictures, who worked on the thrilling prequel and popular series like Solo Leveling and Kaguya-sama: Love Is War?, is back for this full series. This series is technically a spinoff, so having an understanding of the Fate series does help going into this season. Also check out the prologue special, Whispers of Dawn, before jumping in since that’s a direct setup to this story. Fate/strange Fake is available now on Crunchyroll.
Ãœbel Blatt (Amazon Prime)
Another action-packed series dropping this season is Ãœbel Blatt. In this series, our protagonist is betrayed by his comrades and branded a traitor. Years later, he returns and seeks revenge under a different name. Studio Satelight, known for Log Horizon and Macross F, is working alongside Staple Entertainment on this series’ animation production. From what we’ve seen so far, we expect some disturbing characters and bloody fights as the season progresses. Ãœbel Blatt is available now on Amazon Prime.
Blue Exorcist: The Blue Night Saga (Crunchyroll)
The long-running Blue Exorcist is back with another arc, The Blue Night Saga. The series follows Rin, a son of Satan who vows to defeat his father as an exorcist after the death of a loved one. The series has been on quite a roll recently, releasing three parts in two years. Studio VOLN, known for Ushio & Tora and I Want to Eat Your Pancreas, returns to lead animation production on this arc. If you’re looking to get into another shonen series this season, there’s a lot of Blue Exorcist to enjoy. Blue Exorcist: The Blue Night Saga is available now on Crunchyroll.
The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World (Crunchyroll)
Do you like Power Rangers and some of the goofy elements that come with it? The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World might be worth checking out this winter season! As the title suggests, the series follows a Red Ranger who sacrifices himself to defeat a great evil only to then be transported to another world. In this new fantasy world, he still has all his Red Ranger gear, so every weapon and trademark explosive pose still exists in this new world. It’s a parody of Super Sentai in an isekai anime, so there’s tons of room for hilarious scenarios throughout the season. The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World is available now on Crunchyroll.
ZENSHU (Crunchyroll)
The highly anticipated Zenshu is finally here this winter season! The series follows Natsuko, an accomplished animator who finds herself in a familiar fantasy world from an anime from her childhood. In this world, she has the power to alter the chain of events by drawing her own creations with her magical tool. MAPPA, the studio behind Attack on Titan and Chainsaw Man, is heading this series, so look forward to some amazing visuals from a protagonist that excels in animation. Zenshu is available now on Crunchyroll.
Sorairo Utility (HIDIVE)
Looking for a sports anime this season? Sorairo Utility may be a good fit for you! The series follows Minami, a high school student who has difficulty choosing a school club due to her lack of skills. When all hope seems lost, she stumbles upon a driving range where a young golfer sparks her interest in the sport. Yostar Pictures, the studio behind Go! Go! Loser Ranger! and Arknights, will be heading animation for this series. It’ll be interesting to see how Minami’s gamer habits translate to golf as she learns the sport throughout the season. Sorairo Utility is available now on HIDIVE.
Honey Lemon Soda (Crunchyroll)
Another new series this season is Honey Lemon Soda. This romance series follows Uka, a young girl who tends to freeze up in social situations and gets bullied for it. She befriends a classmate who accidentally throws lemon soda on her, and now the two are bonded over this incident. J.C. Staff, known for Toradora and The Disastrous Life of Saiki K., will be the animation studio behind the series, so expect some fun and romantic shenanigans. Honey Lemon Soda is available now on Crunchyroll.
My Happy Marriage Season 2 (Netflix)
Another romance series drops this winter with the return of My Happy Marriage for a second season. The series follows Kiyoka and Miyo, who are in an arranged marriage together. It starts off rocky for the pair, but the two grow fond of each other during their time together. As their relationship grows, it becomes complicated due to both of their fantastical families and secret histories. Studio Kinema Citrus, known for Made in Abyss and Barakamon, returns to helm Season 2. If you’re looking for a romance series with some fantasy elements, this one is worth a shot. My Happy Marriage Season 2 is available now on Netflix.
The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 (Crunchyroll)
Speaking of returning series, The Apothecary Diaries is back for Season 2! This highly acclaimed series follows Maomao, a young girl who was kidnapped and sold to the Imperial Palace as a servant. Using her apothecary and investigative skills, she navigates the political drama of the royal court. OLM and TOHO animation Studio return for Season 2, so we can expect some of the greatness that made this a 2024 anime of the year contender. The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 is available now on Crunchyroll.
Solo Leveling Season 2: Arise From the Shadow (Crunchyroll)
Finally, the highly anticipated Solo Leveling returns with Season 2, Arise From the Shadow. The series follows Sung Jinwoo, a low E-rank hunter who is anything but weak. Through a mysterious event, he becomes a badass fighter that catches the eye of some very powerful people. A-1 Pictures returns for this season, so we’re looking forward to some action-packed visuals alongside more crazy scenarios as Jinwoo continues to learn about his newfound powers. Solo Leveling Season 2 is available now on Crunchyroll.
