Black Panther 3 Confirmed by Marvel Studios Boss Kevin Feige

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed a third Black Panther film is coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Denzel Washington let it slip last month.

As reported by Deadline, Marvel Studios' vice president of production and development Nate Moore announced he would leave the company in 2025 but work on Black Panther 3 before he did so.

"I feel lucky to have worked with a group of people who love filmmaking and storytelling as much as my Marvel colleagues and the cast and crew of our films," Moore said. "But I couldn’t be more excited to apply my experience and passion for film towards theatrical movies in all genres, including returning to the world of Wakanda for Black Panther 3."

Feige and Marvel Studios co-president Louis D’Esposito casually referenced this return too. "Although we’ll miss [Moore] a great deal, we look forward to watching what he does next while also having the good fortune of working with him in a new way on our next Black Panther movie."

Gladiator 2 star Washington first let slip Marvel was at least thinking of a third film in November, saying Black Panther and sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever director Ryan Coogler was writing a part for him in a new film.

Nothing else was said about it until this understated official announcement from Feige, though it will likely still be a while before further details emerge.

Chadwick Boseman starred as the original MCU Black Panther before his death in 2020, with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever addressing this with a touching tribute before revealing his character T'Challa's death too.

T'Challa's younger sister Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, took over the role of the Black Panther and will likely continue that story in the third film. An animated series called Eyes of Wakanda is also coming to Disney+, however, so further story elements could be set up there.
