Actor Kit Harington has reprised his role as Jon Snow — sort of — for the launch trailer of a new Game of Thrones mobile game.
Developer Zynga said the “famed actor behind Jon Snow returns to Westeros” for the launch of RPG puzzle mobile game Game of Thrones: Legends, which features the world, characters, and lore of the HBO franchise, itself based upon George R. R. Martin’s much-loved fantasy series.
Zynga, which is owned by Rockstar parent company Take-Two, launched Game of Thrones: Legends today, July 25 on the App Store and Google Play. It includes content from both Game of Thrones and the House of the Dragon TV shows, and is officially licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on behalf of HBO.

In the trailer, Harington walks into a dimly-lit members club to play the game while speaking very much like Jon Snow might. Eventually, a fan sits down next to Harington and can’t help but say the iconic and often quoted line from Game of Thrones: “You know nothing Jon Snow,” to which Harington closes his eyes and sighs.
Here’s a comment from Harington himself on today’s reveal: “The creativity and care taken to create Game of Thrones: Legends is obvious and it feels completely natural to jump back into Westeros for this game. This is a true love letter to the fans, of whom the franchise would be nothing without, and I’m honored to pay tribute to them in this new campaign.”
Game of Thrones: Legends tasks players with building and leading their own Westeros house as they recruit a team of characters and face off against enemies from the Game of Thrones universe. There’s a story mode as well as raids in which players compete in real-time as they level up their roster of champions.
Game of Thrones: Legends features, per Zynga:
- Complete missions throughout Westeros in a journey to claim the Iron Throne;
- Build and upgrade an iconic team featuring champions like Jon Snow, Rhaenyra Targaryen, the Hound, Ser Criston Cole, Drogon, Arya Stark, and Ghost;
- Showcase strategic prowess in epic RPG puzzle battles;
- Lead your own house of Westeros showing off personalized houses and powerful allies;
- Diversify puzzle battle strategy with champion pairings to conquer different game modes and enemies;
- Leverage lore to discover champion, weapon, and gear synergies – for instance, pair up Jon Snow and Ghost or have Arya equip Needle;
- Execute moves, charge special abilities, and discover powerful combos to obliterate opponents.
