Marvel Drone Display Teases Galactus and Fantastic Four News at Hall H Panel | SDCC 2024

Marvel Studios hosted a spectacular drone show during San Diego Comic-Con 2024, teasing Galactus and Fantastic Four news at the highly-anticipated Hall H panel this Saturday.

A video of the light display, which Marvel Studios posted on its X/Twitter account, shows a short section of the show where Galactus rises up into the night sky above Petco Park before the drones reassemble to create the Fantastic Four logo. The final projection shown in the clip is a message that reads: Saturday, Hall H.

Marvel Studios will hold its tentpole panel in Hall H between 6pm and 7pm on July 27. The SDCC schedule description for the hour doesn't give too much away, simply stating: "Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige and special guests provide an inside look at the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe."

The Fantastic Four is on Marvel's release calendar for July 25, 2025, so it makes sense that the studio would be teasing its upcoming slate. The movie has also begun filming, so the mere presence of the starry cast (Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach) would make enough of a splash.

Ralph Ineson is playing Galactus in this new take on the Fantastic Four. The supervillain has a long history in the comics as a cosmic entity known as "The Devourer of Worlds." His nickname derives from his activities, which include travelling from planet to planet and greedily gobbling worlds up to sustain his life force.

The Fantastic Four also kicks off Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following the release of the final film of Phase 5, Thunderbolts* in May 2025. Phase 6 also includes Blade and two Avengers movies. Marvel will possibly solidify some of these plans and show off its wares at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend.
