Exclusive - Rooster Fighter Anime Revealed | SDCC 2024

Acclaimed manga series Rooster Fighter is currently in production for an anime adaptation. Announced today during the VIZ Media panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the Rooster Fighter anime will be broadcast via Adult Swim, with other streaming partners to be announced soon.

The series, produced by VIZ and HERO’s INC. and based on the manga by Shu Sakuratani, is described as “bizarre, absurd, and proudly boundary-blurring.” It follows Keiji, a “cock-about town” mutant rooster with superhuman strength who defends the world from giant monsters called “Demons.”

Sakuratani describes the adaptation as having “the best writer, the best production staff, and the best voice actors all working together to create the best anime.”

The official synopsis reveals what audiences can expect once the Rooster Fighter anime series is released.

Keiji is more than just an ordinary rooster—he’s humanity’s greatest defender! His opponents may be ten stories tall, but nothing is bigger than his stout heart and his fearsome battle cry—Kokekokko!

IGN can also exclusively reveal the first trailer for the anime, which debuted to an in-person audience at San Diego Comic-Con. The trailer gives a glimpse into the absurd, frenetic, and exciting world of Rooster Fighter.

The official release timeline for the new Rooster Fighter anime will be revealed at a later date. VIZ has also obtained merchandise rights for Rooster Fighter and products are in development for launch.
