Megan Thee Stallion Gives Jujutsu Kaisen Anime of the Year Award While Cosplaying JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion presented Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 with Anime of the Year at the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards while cosplaying as a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure character.

The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen, which begins as a prequel following Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto as they become enemies in high school, overcame anime powerhouses Chainsaw Man, Demon Slayer Season 3, Vinland Saga Season 2, Oshi No Ko, and Bocchi the Rock to win the award.

Known anime fan Megan Thee Stallion presented the award dressed in an outfit inspired by Bruno Bucciarati, a mobster and squad leader within the Passione gang in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

"First of all congratulations to all of the honourees tonight," Megan Thee Stallion said during her presentation. "This was such an amazing year for anime and it's a testament to the talented creators seated in this room tonight."

Jujutsu Kaisen follows Yuji Itadori, a teenager who joins his school's occult club only to discover its members are actual sorcerers. He soon becomes possessed himself, and must use his powers to help others while fighting for control of his body.

IGN's review of Season 2 Part 1 returned an 8/10. "Jujutsu Kaisen returns with a prequel arc that deepens two of the most compelling characters on the show, delivering stunning action and a tragic story," we said.

Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelance reporter. He'll talk about The Witcher all day.
