Wonka has officially won the final domestic weekend box office of 2023 with a sweet performance of $23.9 million in its third week in theaters.
As reported by Comscore, Wonka is expected to reach over $142.4 million in North America through Monday, January 1, and its global tally has now passed $379.0 million.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom placed second with $19.5 million and saw a pretty respectable 30% drop from its opening weekend. Through January 1, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to reach $84.6 million. Worldwide, the Aquaman sequel is up to $251.4 million.
Migration placed third with $17.2 million, The Color Purple took fourth place with $13.0 million, and Anyone But You rounded out the final top five of 2023 with $9.0 million.
