Loki Season 2 Spawns Instant Fan-Favourite With Ke Huy Quan's O.B., but Not Everyone Trusts Him

Warning: This article contains full spoilers for Loki's Season 2 premiere, which is now streaming on Disney+.

Loki Season 2 spawned an instant fan-favourite with the introduction of Ke Huy Quan's Ouroboros (O.B.), but people are wondering whether they can trust the character in the grand scheme of the show.

As the TVA's resident tech expert, O.B. plays a central role in the Loki Season 2 premiere, aptly titled "Ouroboros". He helps Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) figure out a potential solution to Loki's (Tom Hiddleston) time-slipping problem by using a Temporal Aura Extractor to try and extract him from the timestream.

Ke Huy Quan's bright-eyed and energetic portrayal of O.B. proved popular with fans, who instantly took to social media to share high praise for the character — quirks and all. Some people referred to O.B. as their "favourite" among the cast (and the MCU), while others called for him to appear in "every project from now on".

There is clearly a lot of love and positivity for O.B. However, a small faction of fans have grown suspicious of the character and have already raised questions about his trustworthiness. They think his likeability might be a red herring, and he may not be the "good guy" he appears to be on the surface.

X user @MasterTainment was among the first to raise red flags about O.B. They suggested he is "a man with a motive" and possibly responsible for "orchestrating all the chaos". Several people in the comments section of the incriminating post about O.B. supported the theory and agreed that he is "up to something".

The discussion wasn't limited to X, either. One person on Reddit quizzed: "Why does OB remember everything is what we all should be asking ourselves?" Another added: "That's what I was wondering. OB even remembers the details better when Mobius arrived on the wrong floor. So something about OB that they are teasing."

The biggest question seems to be: why wasn't O.B.'s memory wiped by He Who Remains? And it's a valid one to ask because O.B. is able to recall his history with Mobius without any issue, as well as a meeting he had with time-slipping Loki in the past. It's possible there is a Kang connection, or perhaps he was not deemed a threat compared to other agents, or he was simple forgotten, tucked away in the basement.

Only time will tell where his allegiances lie. Loki Season 2 will debut new episodes every Thursday on Disney+ through November 9. You can read IGN's review of Episodes 1-4 here, which comes with a small warning to viewers: "Those expecting a new multiversally manic season of Loki should temper their expectations."
