Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem to Get Video Game Spin-Off

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game renaissance continues, this time with a new game based on the recently released animated movie.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, from family video game specialist Outright Games, is set in the world of the animated movie with which it shares a name, and is due out in 2024 on consoles and PC.

The game takes place months after the events of the movie and features visuals inspired by the film’s eye-catching painterly art style. Expect to see various memorable characters from the Turtles universe pop up in the game, as well as a stylised take on New York City, which is under a new mutant threat.

There’s no announcement trailer, but we do have a piece of concept art, below:

Doug Rosen, senior vice president of games and emerging media at Paramount, said “the vibrancy of this new film’s animation lends itself perfectly to video games, and we can’t wait for everyone to play it”.

Mutant Mayhem was a critical and commercial hit. IGN’s review returned an 8/10: “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem oozes confidence, energy, and heart, and the animated adventure represents a new high for the Turtles on the big screen. Top-notch voice acting, anchored by Jackie Chan’s Splinter and four instantly lovable teen Turtles, plus a killer Reznor and Ross score ensure that Mutant Mayhem isn’t getting by on looks alone. Even if the superhero tropes the story plays with feel worn, the enthusiasm with which Mutant Mayhem tackles them always wins out.”
