Goosebumps Revival Series Gets a Spooky Release Date on Disney+ and Hulu

There's officially a release date for the "Goosebumps" revival series and — surprise, surprise — it's Friday the 13th during the spookiest month of the year.

The show debuts its first five episodes Oct. 13 as part of Disney+'s "Hallowstream" and Hulu's "Huluween" programming lineups. According to today's announcement from Disney Branded Television and Sony Pictures Television, new episodes of the 10-part series will be made available for streaming each week after. Episodes 1 and 2 of "Goosebumps" can also be viewed on Freeform on Oct. 13 as part of the streaming service's "31 Nights of Halloween" programming.

Disney+ also released first look images at the series and a 17-second teaser to promote the release date. During the clip, the text "don't blink" appears on the screen before flashing through a series of hair-raising frames from the show.

Inspired by best-selling author R.L. Stine's titular horror novels, the live-action TV adaptation of "Goosebumps" follows a curious group of high schoolers who find themselves at the heart of an investigation into a death that occurred nearly three decades earlier. The series stars Justin Long, Rachael Harris, Zack Morris, Isa Briones, Miles McKenna, Ana Yi Puig and Will Price.

The show was first announced back in 2020 as a collaborative project between Sony Pictures and Scholastic Entertainment. Though this isn't the first time fans of the franchise have seen the hit book series adapted for television; a live-action anthology series of the same name aired on Fox Kids and YTV between 1995 and 1998. There's also "The Haunting Hour," which was esentially a reboot under a different name, that ran from 2010 to 2014 on Discovery Family.

If that's not enough to keep you occupied before the new series comes out, we recommend the 2015 film adaptation starring Jack Black. And don't worry, there's two sequels.
