You May Be Able to Go to the Movies for Just $4 This Sunday

If you have yet to see Barbie or Oppenheimer (or both), this Sunday is the perfect time to do so, as you only have to pay $4 for a movie ticket.

The Cinema Foundation announced today that it's bringing back National Cinema Day on Sunday, Aug. 27, where more than 3,000 movie theaters are knocking down the prices of movie tickets to just $4. This one-day initiative also applies to big-named theater chains such as AMC.

Of course, Barbie and Oppenheimer are not the only films playing in theaters. Other films currently playing include Blue Beetle, Gran Turismo, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and Strays.

This is the second year in a row that The Cinema Foundation has held this one-day-only initiative, with the inaugural National Cinema Day held last year during Labor Day weekend, where movie tickets were only $3 regardless of what film and what time you saw it. AP News reports that the first National Cinema Day was a huge success, with over eight million moviegoers heading to participating theaters that day to capitalize on the cheap movie ticket deal.

With movie ticket prices increasing in recent years, paying $4 to see a blockbuster release is definitely not a bad deal at all.
