Marvel Includes Nod to Netflix's Daredevil in Latest Secret Invasion Episode

Spoiler Warning: The below article features very light spoilers for Episode 2 of Marvel's Secret Invasion.

Marvel has snuck a cheeky reference to Netflix's Daredevil series into Episode 2 of Secret Invasion, which premiered on Disney+ this week.

As reported by Total Film, the reference can be found in the opening scenes of Episode 2 as a handful of fictional news broadcasts recount the events of the previous episode.

Eagle-eyed Reddit user LiquidLispyLizard noticed a familiar news channel among these called FXN, which was also featured in Netflix's Daredevil series. Even the show's most dedicated fans could be forgiven for missing it though, as the FXN logo previously only appeared on a reporter's microphone during Season 3 Episode 12.

It therefore looks like Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock isn't the only aspect of the scrapped show making a return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's take on Daredevil. Whether or not FXN has a larger role to play remains to be seen, of course, as Marvel has said very little about its Born Again show so far.

This MCU series, which currently lacks a release date and is postponed due to the Writers' Strike, won't be a continuation of the Netflix show but is instead a straight reboot. Another familiar face is making an appearance though, as Jon Bernthal is returning as The Punisher.

Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelance reporter. He'll talk about The Witcher all day.
