Burger King Debuts Red and Black Burger to Celebrate Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Instead of slinging webs, Burger King will be slinging limited-time Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse burgers from May 15 through to June 21.

The fast-food chain unveiled its Spider-Verse-themed Whopper in a recent news release promoting the new menu item, which will be available at participating Burger King restaurants across the US before Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse swings into theaters on June 2.

The flame-grilled Whopper is sandwiched in a red bun with black sesame seeds, drawing inspiration from Miles Morales' Spider-Man suit. Though it looks very different from other menu offerings, it comes with all the traditional toppings and is customizable according to preferences.

"Like the infinite number of universes that can be explored in the next installment of the award-winning Spider-Man franchise, Burger King fans can discover new and exciting ways to customize the Spider-Verse menu items," said Pat O'Toole, CMO at Burger King North America.

Burger King will also serve up a Spider-Verse sundae this summer, made of soft-serve ice cream topped with red and black chocolate popping candies - which might just be the perfect dessert to sink your teeth into after a lengthy showing of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Miles Morales, on the other hand, would have little time to stop for a sundae as he is already struggling to balance his responsibilities as a teenager, friend and student. Not only that, he is about to launch into a multiversal adventure with Gwen Stacy and a team of Spider-people.

Each of the universes they travel to will feature a unique art style, so we will see how it all unfolds when Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse hits theaters next month.
