Nvidia Announces GeForce RTX 4070 Graphics Card

Nvidia has officially announced the GeForce RTX 4070 — the fifth graphics card in the company's RTX 4000 series of GPUs and a successor to the RTX 3070.

Using Nvidia's Ada Lovelace architecture, the RTX 4070 features 12GB of GDDR6X of memory and launches on April 13.

Nvidia touts that the GPU will deliver 1440p gaming at 100+ frames per second with ray tracing and DLSS 3 enabled.

The RTX 4070 is the more affordable GPU costing $599 — $200 less than the RTX 4070 Ti's MSRP. While still a bit steep in price, the RTX 4070 is still more affordable than the RTX 4080 and 4090, both retailing for over $1,000.

In our review of the RTX 4070 Founder's Edition, which we gave an 8, we noted that although the card itself won't "blow away the competition," the RTX 4070 is the first in the RTX 40-series of desktop GPUs "that actually delivers solid value for most people."
