Jack Black has taken over big screens around the world as Bowser in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and he recently shared that he thinks Pedro Pascal should join the cast in a potential sequel as Wario.
Speaking to GameSpot, Black began by stating he isn't 100% convinced Bowser would be back for a sequel. After all, his experience in Kung Fu Panda taught him to not just assume a villain would be back for film #2.
"It's not a given that Bowser will return. You know, I did a few Kung Fu Panda movies, and it was a different villain every movie. They may do the same thing," Black said.
Even if Bowser isn't the big bad in The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2, it would be hard to imagine a Mario film without the King of the Koopas in it. As GameSpot's Phil Owen notes, Bowser could even join our heroes against an even greater evil.
"You know, what if there is a more powerful, more evil villain? Then I may need to be turned to help Mario and the rest to defend our universe against some other unseen force of evil," Black said. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Wario. Pedro Pascal is Wario."
Pascal has traveled to Westeros in Game of Thrones, explored the galaxy in The Mandalorian, and has experienced a post-apocalyptic world in The Last of Us, so a trip to Mushroom Kingdom shouldn't be out of the question.
We will have to wait and see if Pascal will ever don the purple overalls and become Wario or even if The Super Mario Bros. Movie will get a sequel. However, early box office predictions and a post-credits scene sure do hint that this won't be the last we see of this bunch.
