There's no shortage of great options when it comes to collecting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures these days. But if you prefer something with a little more shelf presence that doesn't break the bank, Diamond Select Toys' TMNT Gallery Diorama series may be right up your alley.
Diamond is kicking off its TMNT line the only way it could, with Leonardo leading the charge. Check out the slideshow gallery below for a closer look at this dynamic Leonardo statue:
This Leonardo statue is made of PVC and measures about 9 inches tall. The piece was designed by Kinetic Underground and sculpted by Sandro Luis Sampaio. It doesn't appear to be based on any one, particular incarnation of the franchise, but instead combines elements of the contemporary IDW comics and the 2012 animated series.
Naturally, the Leonardo PVC Diorama will be followed up by more TMNT Diorama pieces. Eventually, collectors will be able to connect all four Turtles to form a larger diorama display.
The Leonardo PVC Diorama is priced at $60 and is slated for release in Summer 2023. preorders will open on December 23, 2022 on Diamond Select's website and various other toy retailers.
While Leonardo will be the first character released in the TMNT Gallery line, Diamond did technically tease a statue based on the comic book series TMNT: The Last Ronin. That piece has been temporarily canceled, though DST did confirm to IGN that the Last Ronin Diorama is still in development and will be resolicited at a later date. Until then, you can learn more about this dark, alternate TMNT universe and the identity of the Turtle in question.
